Great little family owned/run shop! They’re friendly, knowledgeable, and do good work. Plus, they’re priced competitively and won’t recommend work you don’t need. I can’t say enough good things about S & L Transmission. After searching for over an hour in every direction, this was the only shop willing and able to take on my 5-speed Tremec under a ’71 Chevelle. When you’re dealing with a full resto-mod full of aftermarket parts, all the simplicity of a classic build goes right out the window — and Susan and her team never backed down from the challenge.
From start to finish, Susan, Lance, and their office manager, Victoria, were easy to communicate with, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. I’ll admit I’m not the easiest customer — I ask a lot of questions (and then a few more) — but they handled everything with honesty and professionalism.
S & L Transmission truly represents what a genuine mom-and-pop shop should be: skilled, transparent, and customer-focused. They delivered exactly what I wanted and, for the first time in a long while, I got what I paid for. After dealing with several shops during this project, I can confidently say this is the one that stands out above the rest.

I would like to Thank Ms. Susan for working with me ..I live in Cameron and went looking for someone to work on two of my vehicles ,both needing Transmissions and Ms. Susan answered all my questions and the price was right. Well when I went in to make a payment I meet Ms. Susan granddaughter who was very cheerful and good with the paperwork. And there was Lance the mechanic who is very good at his job he believes in doing a job and do right the first time and uses new parts and if he notices something else wrong and course he fixes it. Recurring misfiring problem on 2005 Ford Expedition. Replaced all plugs and power packs TWICE in past 2 years and individual cylinders a few times. (Used Motorcraft plugs and Denso power packs and cleaned the engine with B-60).

Jay did the diagnostic but also gave good advice. He said that this age engine needs the OEM sparks and power packs from the dealer... more expensive, but the older engines are fussy.
I changed the plugs/power packs with OEM on the 2 bad cylinders myself. Engine light cleared immediately.
So, appreciate that S&L do more than fix and charge, they want to help you.

S&L did it again! Best prices in Sanford hands down.
Trust me, nobody does it better. Other shops overcharge!, but not S&L. They offer fair prices, do great work, and treat you right. I dropped my car off Sunday, and it was ready by Monday morning. Fast, reliable, and honest service every time, Can’t nobody take care of you like S&L..
